Troop 376’s 2026 Dutch Oven Cookoff

The Troop 376 annual Dutch Oven Cookoff did not disappoint this year, as our Scouts took on the challenge of creating unique, delectable desserts using only the ingredients provided, their Dutch ovens, and their skills and imaginations.

While all of our patrols did amazing jobs, it was the “Gordina Ramsey’s” that emerged victorious. Consisting of members from the Power Pandas patrol from our 376 G girls’ Troop, the “Gordinas” wowed our celebrity judges with their story-rich offering. Entitled “Camp Gordina”, this tasty concoction represented a campsite, complete with miniature candy representations of the Scouts themselves.

Celebrity judge Mike Coughlin, Deputy Town Supervisor of Somers, marveled at “the planning, the preparation, the teamwork, the communication” that all of the Scouts exhibited during the competition.

“I’m really impressed by what you guys are doing at your age,” Coughlin said.

“I expect to see you all on the Food Network soon,” added celebrity judge and Somers Town Councilwoman Gina Arena.

Before announcing this year’s winner, Town Supervisor and four-year veteran celebrity judge Rob Scorrano had this to say about the Scouts: “Very very impressive. Every year I come back, I’m just so impressed again by the teamwork, your dedication, and the thought and creativity that you all show working together. I couldn’t be more proud of all of you for your hard work tonight.”

Many thanks to our celebrity judges and all the adults who helped plan and oversee the event. But most of all, congratulations to all the Scouts who participated – we can’t wait to see the inventive creations you’ll come up with next year!
