Nine scouts from Somers Troop 376 attended this year’s STEM Jamboree at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, earning an impressive collection of merit badges in the process.
Assistant Scoutmaster Peter Schmitt organized the event, his 10th consecutive year doing so. Each scout was able to select two merit badges from those offered, and received event T-shirts and patches.
Parents accompanying the Scouts had the option of shadowing their Scout, participating in guided tours, or freely exploring the impressive US Naval Academy campus.
It was a fantastic event that Troop 376 hopes to attend for an 11th year in 2024. Congratulations to the Scouts who earned merit badges, and many thanks to Mr. Schmitt for organizing the troop’s participation in the event.
