Today, Somers BSA Troop 376 honored the 2,977 individuals who were killed in the attacks on September 11, 2001, serving as color guard for the memorial ceremony held today at Bailey Park.
“As Scoutmaster, I view this as one of the most important civic duties our troop will carry out all year”, said Matthew Kimmel, Scoutmaster of Troop 376.
Troop 376’s next public appearance will be on Sunday, September 18th at the Celebrate Somers Day festival in the Towne Centre shopping plaza. The troop will once again serve as color guard and also staff a recruiting table to generate awareness and interest in the troop and BSA Scouting activities. Be sure to come visit!
Great post and great troop!
