March Campout – is our Wilderness Survival Campout at Camp Bullowa in Stony Point NY from March 20-22 – details to follow. Sign up sheet available during troop meeting
March is Scouting for Food Month – we will be collecting & packing food for the Somers Food Pantry at St Luke’s at our Troop Meeting on Tuesday March 24th – see attached flyer for requested donation items / Thank you Mrs. Munson for organizing this activity.
Troop Hoodies – we are taking orders for Troop Hoodies / if you would like to purchase one please complete the attached form and return to Mr Peterson at the next at Tuesday’s Meeting ( it is recommended that the hoodies be ordered a little bigger) / checks payable to Somers Troop 376. Thank you Mr Peterson for coordinating this.
Camp Read / Summer Camp – Information will be discussed held during our Troop Meeting on March 10th. Those thinking about Camp Read this summer should take a look at the parent’s guide attached to this e-mail. We are reserved for Site Hurricane (right next to Wolfjaw) for Week 4 July 26 to August 1. In particular, merit badge offerings are on page 24 and 25. Mr Cheung will go over all the paperwork that is required including medical forms & what to expect and what the boys will be doing their time there.
Michael Rivera Eagle Scout Court of Honor – Michael’s Eagle Scout ceremony on March 28th/ please RSVP if you have not responded so the Rivera family can finalize their plans.
Intro to Leadership Skills Class– Saturday March 14th @ 9:00am. Class will be at Mr Cheungs’ office: 1275 Hanover St Bldg B, Yorktown Heights NY. If you are a scout with a leadership position in the troop you are encouraged to attend as we will be covering methods and ways to be a more effective leader in Boy Scouts and in life! If you are signed up for NYLT in April it is MANDATORY that you attend this class. Everyone attending should bring a notebook.
