Mt. Greylock Backpacking Campout

The Scouts of our troop and several adult leaders conquered several trails at Mt. Greylock in the beautiful Berkshire mountains of Massachusetts. We hiked all our food and equipment in from the parking area 2 miles away, and after a scenic detour, made it to our campsite. After setting up camp and having lunch, we hiked to the summit of Mt. Greylock, the highest point in Massachusetts where we all basked in the view. Some of us even climbed to the top of the tower. We returned to the campsite for dinner and hiked back out the next morning. A total of 8.2 miles was hiked both days!
