Husband, father, friend, scientist, outdoor educator, Eagle Scout, and dedicated Scout leader…

Dr. Carl Gebauer passed away on August 20th after battling a long illness. Carl epitomized the true spirit of the Scout Oath and Law throughout his life-long dedicated service to others, especially to young people. He helped bring his love of nature and all its wonders to several generations of youth. Troop 376 was extremely fortunate to have Carl as a Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster for many years. He will be sorely missed.

Gone too soon, but not forgotten, Carl touched many lives and his legacy lives on through them.

Softly falls the light of day,
As our campfire fades away.
Silently each Scout should ask
Have I done my daily task?
Have I kept my honor bright?
Can I guiltless sleep tonight?
Have I done and have I dared
Everything to be prepared?

Day is done, gone the sun,
From the lake, from the hills, from the sky;
All is well, safely rest, God is nigh.
